Prompts
When Visbee runs a collection, it sends a set of questions to each AI platform it monitors. These questions are called prompts. They are the mechanism through which Visbee discovers whether AI platforms mention your brand, how they frame it, and what sources they cite alongside it.
What prompts are
Section titled “What prompts are”Prompts are the actual queries Visbee submits to AI platforms on your behalf. Think of them as the questions a real customer might type into ChatGPT or Perplexity when researching a purchase, comparing solutions, or trying to understand a category. Visbee sends these questions to each platform and captures the responses so you can see where your brand appears (and where it does not).
How prompts are generated
Section titled “How prompts are generated”You do not write prompts yourself. Visbee generates them automatically based on the brand information you provide: your industry, category, and the description you entered when setting up your brand. This means the quality of your brand profile directly affects the relevance of the prompts.
Different types of prompts cover different angles of how AI platforms discuss your category. For example, some prompts ask which tools are best for a particular job, others ask for a comparison between specific products, and others ask more general informational questions about how a category of solution works. Together they give a broad picture of how AI platforms talk about your space and where your brand fits in.
When you update your brand details, the prompts update automatically for the next collection run. You do not need to trigger anything manually.
Why you cannot see the exact prompts
Section titled “Why you cannot see the exact prompts”Visbee intentionally does not display the exact prompt text. This is by design, for two reasons.
First, it keeps your scores comparable over time. As prompts evolve to better reflect how real users are searching, scores from different periods stay meaningful because the underlying methodology is consistent. If you could see and react to specific prompts, changes in your score would be harder to interpret.
Second, it prevents gaming. Visibility built on genuine content and earned media is durable. Optimising narrowly for a specific prompt wording produces fragile results that shift the moment the prompt changes.
More prompts mean more signal
Section titled “More prompts mean more signal”Higher-tier plans include more prompts per collection. More prompts mean broader coverage of the questions your potential customers are actually asking, which produces a more complete picture of your AI visibility. A single prompt can tell you whether you appear in one context; dozens of prompts tell you whether you have broad, consistent presence across your category.
Requesting a specific query
Section titled “Requesting a specific query”If there is a particular question or topic you want Visbee to track, reach out to the team. While the prompt set is managed centrally, the team can review whether your use case is already covered or whether it makes sense to expand coverage for your category.
