Add competitors
After setting up your brand, Visbee asks you to add competitors. Competitor monitoring is what turns raw visibility data into context: instead of just knowing your own score, you can see how your brand compares to the alternatives your customers are actually considering.
How many competitors can you add?
Section titled “How many competitors can you add?”The number of competitors you can track depends on your plan. Check the Plans page for current limits.
How to add a competitor
Section titled “How to add a competitor”Enter the competitor’s brand name and domain, the same way you entered your own. Visbee will track mentions of each competitor name across the same AI platforms and prompts it uses for your brand.
You can add competitors during initial setup or return to this step later from the brand settings page.
Choosing the right competitors
Section titled “Choosing the right competitors”A few guidelines:
- Pick brands your target customers compare you against. The goal is to understand share of voice in the conversations that matter to your business. If a prospect asks an AI “What should I use for X?”, which names come up alongside yours?
- Start with your direct competitors in the same category. Avoid adding brands that are only loosely related; their scores won’t be meaningful to compare.
- Don’t add both a brand and its parent company unless you need both. For example, adding “Instagram” and “Meta” as separate competitors may inflate the numbers in a confusing way unless you specifically want to track each.
- Revisit your competitor list every 6 months. Markets shift. New entrants appear, others fade. Keeping your competitor list current ensures your share of voice data stays accurate.
What happens after you add competitors
Section titled “What happens after you add competitors”Visbee monitors every competitor in parallel with your brand during each collection. The dashboard shows how often each brand is mentioned, the sentiment around those mentions, and each brand’s share of voice across the AI platforms you’re tracking.
See Dashboard to understand how the comparison view works once you have data.
